Marco Antonio Fernández is a doctor and teacher in Political Science from Duke University. He studied his degree at the Autonomous Technological Institute of Mexico. He is currently a research professor at the School of Government and Public Administration of the Technological Institute of Higher Studies of Monterrey. He is also an associate researcher at México Evalúa. He specializes in both educational policy issues and fighting corruption and accountability. In 2015 he was a visiting researcher at the Mexico Institute of the Woodrow Wilson Center in Washington DC, where he conducted a series of interviews to identify international lessons in the advancement of policies for the control of corruption.
